Charlie Marts works primarily in commercial real estate transactions. His focus is on real-estate business and investor development and involves title examination; preparation, review, and assessment of security instruments; consulting on entity structure and strategy.
In addition Charlie has represented local, national, and international creditors in state and federal courts throughout Louisiana. He has advised on secured transactions, mortgage instruments, bankruptcy, and collection issues.
Charlie is admitted to practice in Louisiana (2012) and Texas (2013). He is currently admitted to all Louisiana and Texas state courts, as well as all federal courts in Louisiana.
While a student at Tulane Law School, Charlie was an editor of the Maritime Law Journal and an editor of the Civil Law Commentaries. He also was a member of the Tulane Environmental Law Clinic. Charlie’s undergraduate studies were in business and economics with a focus on finance, and he graduated with a B.B.A. from the University of Hawaii at Hilo. Prior to attending law school, he worked as a yacht captain, and sailed throughout the United States, Caribbean, Mediterranean, and South Pacific.
